Yellow Duan Ni Hanwa Yixing Teapot by Yaowen Xu 170ml

RM229.95

A classic Hanwa style Yixing teapot handmade from yellow Duan Ni clay by certified artist Yaowen Xu. The unique shape of the teapot offers your tea plenty of space to full unfold and release its aroma.

Hanwa Yixing teapots emerged during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), drawing inspiration from the tiles found on ancient Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) buildings. Characterized by a cylindrical body and a wide opening, they’re particularly suited for steeping larger tea leaves and the interior is easy to clean. Hanwa teapots typically feature a lid knob that is bridge-shaped, and this teapot follows that tradition.

Handmade from authentic yellow Duan Ni clay, this teapot is celebrated for its superior breathability, which makes it ideal for brewing pu erh, oolong, and green teas.. With regular use, the surface of the teapot will to develop a stunning patina over time. The small black specks adorning the teapot are hematite particles, which turn black upon firing.

This teapot has a capacity of 170ml and has a 7-hole built-in ball filter in the spout, which provides excellent pouring speed and prevents the tea leaves from clogging the flow.
