Ziye Shipiao teapots are among the most challenging to craft, primarily due to their wide base. During oven-firing, the base can shrink, leading to potential deformation of the teapot. Consequently, firing ten teapots typically yields only about 3 flawless pieces.

The purple clay used in this teapot is sourced from the original purple clay ore from Huanglong mountain. Zi Ni has excellent breathability and is suitable for all types of tea. The teapot also features excellent pouring speed through the 9 hole filter inside the spout.

The phoenix artwork on the teapot is hand-painted utilizing various types of Yixing clay pigment paste, while intricate details are engraved using specialized tools.
